Weight Loss Medications-Do They Work

There are plenty of weight loss medications available today, but you shouldn’t take any until you have had a chance to discuss your best options with your personal physician. However, there is nothing stopping you from doing your own research on those options before you have the talk with your doctor. In fact, it’s a really good idea to be as informed as possible, as this with give you a solid base of knowledge to help you understand whatever your doctor has to say.

One of the main things to consider is whether or not you really need weight loss medication in the first place. After all, millions of people lose weight every year without taking any kind medicine whatsoever. Remember, all prescription medicines have the risk of side effects. You can actually think of the positive benefits as a sort of side effect. In other words, losing weight could be labeled as a side effect. But what we’re talking about is the potential of harmful side effects.

It’s probably a safe bet that, because you’re looking into weight loss medications, you have already tried to lose weight several times before; with little or no long-lasting success. The latest and greatest diets come and go, and get rid of a few pounds here and there, but then you go back to your old weight (or end up weighing even more than when you started). Exercise plans may have helped at first, too, but then you give up on them and go back to your regular activities. And none of this includes starvation diets or extreme exercise regimens.

The big problem with all of this that it’s just so easy to stay overweight. But the health risks associated with weighing too much make it worth trying as many times as it takes to see lasting results. The question is if weight loss medications are right for you.

Remember, there are risks when taking any medication. This is also true of medications for losing weight. In fact, there have been past cases of popular medications that led to serious side effects, and even death in a few cases. You need to balance the risk with the potential reward. For example, if you only want to lose five pounds or so, then the risk probably isn’t worth it. On the other hand, if you want to lose fifty pounds or more, and you have health problems related to obesity, then the risk of adverse side effects may not matter as much.

The main thing is to talk to your own physician about the choices you have. They will know your health history, and also have a better idea of what the real risks are for you. A doctor will also know which weight loss medications have been around for a long tome and have a proven track record of helping people lose weight. Assuming your doctor approves of giving you a prescription, you should see results in a short time.

Green Tea And Weight Loss Go Together

Have you ever noticed that you can often find green tea or its extracts being sold near other weight loss products? Perhaps you never thought twice about it, but they don’t sell coffee, milk or other such beverages there, so why green tea? Let’s take a look at green tea and weight loss.

While it may not be 100% perfect (nothing is), you will see that green tea does have some pretty impressive benefits; not only on how much you weigh, but on your overall health as well. Ancient cultures have been aware of these properties for ages, but it is only recently that Western medicine and science have started to see how much this unassuming plant can do.

Before we get to the good stuff, it’s only fair to offer a few warnings. First, green tea contains caffeine, so those who can’t tolerate it, or have to avoid it for spiritual or health reasons shouldn’t drink it. Second, you should talk to your doctor before making any changes to your diet. Finally, none of the information in this article is meant to be medical advice of any kind. Always consult with your doctor and follow their advice. Okay, now on to the good stuff…

Green tea contains catechin polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants. These appear to be the source of a lot of the health benefits associated with drinking green tea. Furthermore, the catechin increases your metabolism. Some studies have shown that green tea can boost your metabolism by as much as 4% for a full 24 hours after drinking it. Imagine drinking a cup or two of tea and then burning extra calories for a day afterwards.

The better metabolic rate is only the start of the good news about green tea and weight loss. One of the biggest problems with going on a diet is that you always seem to feel hungry. But green tea comes to the rescue yet again! How? First it helps to regulate blood sugar levels, which play an important part in how full we feel. Next, the polyphenols in green tea may suppress the body’s production of the enzyme leptin which makes us feel hungry. So, it not only makes you feel fuller, it also makes you less hungry at the same time.

So far it’s easy to see how green tea is a natural ally in the fight for losing weight, but we’re not quite done yet. As if increased metabolism and feeling full weren’t enough, there is also some evidence that compounds found in green tea reduce how much fat the body absorbs. The catechins, caffeine and theanine work to inhibit the lipase enzymes that signal the body to store fat.

Add to all of this the fact that tea has zero calories, and there should be no doubt that green tea and weight loss go together. Just drink a cup or two every day, and you should start noticing the positive effects before you know it.

Healing Through Spiritual Medicine

The world in which we live in today consists of countless material possessions and desires. Indeed, it has become a difficult task for people to acknowledge the simple things in life since they are now blinded by the quantity of riches and fame. Remember that however simple these things may be, they are much more important to the lives of human beings than those materialistic possessions you can never ever bring with you when you pass away. These simple things include the concept of spiritual medicine wherein people can truly feel saved and protected from the temptations and evils in the world. With the term spiritual, it is simply saying that we are openly bringing ourselves to our faith to God and restoring our bodies in their spiritual state.

Balanced Aspects Of The Body

It is true to say that the human body is not simply composed by the physical being but rather of other aspects as well including the mental, emotional and spiritual beings. These four things should be balanced inside the human being in order for the person to have a healthy state. However, more often than not, one or two parts of the body do not perform well and therefore; the body is left vulnerable to all sorts of negativity.

Most of the time, people do not realize the importance of their spirituality in order to maintain their well being. Especially today that we are living in such a materialistic and egoistic society; people tend to totally forget how to develop their spirituality and thereby, ultimately saving themselves from harm. And when a person experiences a decline in his spirituality, chances are his physical body is also affected. This is when his body can be ill or be inflicted with all sorts of diseases. Although scientifically he can be cured in his physical state, it does not necessarily mean that he is cured completely.

Healing A Body Through A Healing Force

It is during this time that spiritual medicine comes in. It is when a person is healed not by tangible drugs or therapies, but rather by a healing force that is much greater than any medicine that can be found on earth. This healing force comes from the external part of the universe and therefore enters the wisdom of the person and restores his functions and the areas that have been affected by his illness. Such transfer of energy is indeed a mysterious thing that nobody ever seemed to prove in a scientific and experimental manner; however, for most people it can simply be called faith.

With a suffering person waiting to be healed, spiritual medicine can readily exchange the healing force that comes from the outside or from God to the negative forces that are building within his body. Such a method can be done by a healer who has experienced spiritual awakening and development and is capable enough to mediate the transfer of the healing force. As soon as the spiritual aspect of the body is restored into its normal state, the person can already say that indeed, he has finally been cured from the burdens of his sickness.
